How to Fix Health Care

By June 30, 2009March 19th, 2015No Comments

Idaho’s health care system is on the sick list. Boise State Radio’s George Prentice discuss what a cure would look like for the state and the nation. Dr. Paul Grundy, director of health care technology and strategic initiatives for IBM (which pays $1.3 billion for health care for 385,000 employees), says the family doctor is the key. “We’ve forgotten the basics of a really robust system of prevention and family care.” What’s stopping us? The payment system. Why? It’s focused on high impact, high cost treatment. Grundy is certain health care reform is coming. Why? What we have is “totally unsustainable.”
